Dear Fine Lines Camper,
I am as concerned as anyone that we have to cancel our “normal” summer camp in-person plans. However, creative people learn to adjust. Right? I enjoy working with young writers so much that I don’t want to give up on the positive ideas of what “writing camp” does for young writers of all ages.
Last year’s summer campers want to work on more of their writing and are into the idea of Zooming. We are used to breaking into our age appropriate rooms at camp, and we could do the same thing with our Zoom meetings. After all, the idea is to write, anyway possible.
Epictetus (c. 50-135 AD) had the right-write idea a long time ago, and the concept has
not changed: “If you wish to be a writer, write.”
Fine Lines has always counted on the summer camp registration fees to support our four books/year and other writing endeavors. If you will consider your camp payment a donation to Fine Lines 2020, I will work with you as much as you like, Zooming and online, to encourage your writing development and future publication in Fine Lines, this year.
I already have fifty other writers who have agreed to do this with me. I hope you like this plan.
